Taiwan’s First “Green Foundry Talent Development Center” Was Officially Established
Actively Cultivate Green Foundry Engineers
Implement Energy Conservation and Carbon Reduction to Protect the Earth
On April. 13. 2023, Taiwan’s first “ Green Foundry Talent Development Center” was officially established in the green foundry technology building of TEMC. The plaque unveiling ceremony was attended by Mr. Chong-Bin Chou, Secretary-General of the Industrial Development Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs; Mr. Yan-Huang Lin, Chairman of the Taiwan Foundry Society; Mr. Guo-Wei Lin, Chairman of the Taiwan Casting Industry Association; honorary chairman, Mr. Kun-Cheng Liao; and the President Mr. F.K. Chang and General Manager S.W. Chang of TEMC. In additional, the commencement ceremony of the “Zero Carbon Emissions Education and Training Program” was held at the same day, aiming to cultivate a new generation of foundry talents with environmentally conscious through this development center.
TEMC has demonstrated the commitment of supporting the “2050 Towards Net Zero” policy, by providing free access of the Green Foundry Technology Building as the base of the Green Foundry Talent Development Center. Nearly 50 leading companies in the foundry industry participated in a three-day Zero Carbon Emissions Education and Training program, which guides everyone on taking the first steps towards sustainability.
Furthermore, TEMC plans to organize various green foundry workshops and courses for both professionals and students of foundry industry. The participants that have successfully complete the whole courses will receive the Green Foundry Engineer Certificate awarded by the Metal Industries Research & Development Centre. This policy aims to reach the goals of improving the personal salary growth, increase career opportunities, and contribute to energy conservation and carbon reduction efforts.
